The Vanguard Award Committee is happy to announce that Brooke Bennett will be the keynote speaker for the Vanguard End of the Year Awards Banquet taking place on Thursday, June 14th from 6pm-8:00pm at The Columbia Restaurant in Ybor City, located at 2117 East 7th Ave., Tampa, FL 33615. In her keynote address, the Olympic Gold Medalist will honor the achievements and outstanding performances of event attendees.

Freedom Highschool Athlete Receives Vanguard Award

Sara Hill, a senior from Freedom High School, was named the Vanguard Award recipient for the month of February. Vanguard Attorneys created this award program to honor the dedication of local student athletes, coaches and athletic directors. The law firm credits Hill for not only excelling in athletics but for being active in the community as well. As a team captain, Hill has received the “Most Dedicated Player Award” as well the the “Perfect GPA award” she volunteers at the James A Haley Veteran’s Hospital and also takes the time to tutor students.

Armwood’s McQuay earns Vanguard Award

He is also a member of the Robinson football and track teams. During this school year’s football season, Duvall was a strong contributor to the offensive line which helped guide the team to the state playoffs. Duvall also works to help others through his church and community projects.

The Vanguard Award Selects November Winner: Katherine Lutton

Her cross country coach, Hassan Wajd, explains that she plays a ‘big sister’ role and motivates her peers to excel in all facets of life. During her junior year, Lutton broke a 30 year old cross country record and became a Florida High School Athletic Association state finalist. Lutton also gives back to the Tampa Bay community through the YMCA and Tampa Bay Harvest.
